Scholarship for Denison & Sherman Students

Burress Injury Law has opened a scholarship program specifically for students who attended or are currently attending high school, college, or university in Denison or Sherman. Interested applicants can learn if they qualify and how to apply below.

Five students from the Denison and Sherman areas will each be awarded $2,500.

All materials must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 20, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this award, students must be one of the following:

1. Graduating high school seniors currently attending school in Denison or Sherman
2. Current students enrolled at a college or university in Denison or Sherman
3. Undergraduate college students who graduated from a high school in Denison or Sherman

Additionally, all students must:

• Be U.S. citizens
• Have a demonstrated record of community or volunteer service

Application Requirements:

Applicants should prepare an essay of no more than 500 words in response to the following prompt:

Describe a challenge or trying time in your life through which you persevered, and how the experience helped shape your future.

In addition to the required prompt, if relevant, applicants are welcome to address a second prompt as well:

If you are so fortunate to have a Grandparent who is or was important in your life, we would love to hear about your relationship with your Grandparent in your response, including meaningful ways they have helped you and you have helped them.

In the submission form below, students will be asked to include their contact information and proof of college enrollment or acceptance.
